I've wandered geographically, but I hadn't made a dedication to wandering like quitting my job and minimizing my material possessions before. When I did, it was so I could wander for an extended period of time in 2018 as a quest to find Creativity to collaborate with me on personal projects again. Thats how the Vagabond series came to be.
After twenty plus years of schooling. After landing a job in a career related to that schooling. After creating your second job in that same career but at a your first company. After starting your third job in that same career but at a different company. When does this start to feel monotonous? Maybe it's time to try something different. Our time is limited and is the foundation for one's life making it the most valuable asset, so why not?
Wandering is one of my favorite ways to spend my time. I wander a lot. Kinda like what you're doing right now. It's a helpful exercise breaking up a monotonous activity. It recharges me. It feels like it helps the gears in my mind start to spin as I move. Wandering gives perspective. Wandering helps you move through perspectives. Wandering helps you be open to perspectives. Wandering can be as short or as long as it needs to be.
Wandering can take you somewhere you've been before, over and over again. Yet, it will always take you somewhere new, figuratively and literally, once that place becomes monotonous. I'm not sure how wandering could ever be stopped because Curiosity will always be at the reins.
Wandering isn't just limited to our physical capabilities and environments. We can wander through environments, through people (with permission), through activities, but also through ideas and perspectives.

The Illustration of Rat Train
We are so many, all over, and we all need to get somewhere, whatever we're doing. We can be so busy that we're unaware of whats outside our tunnel of vision. Hop on the fast paced Rat Train, collect experiences, and stories for later. Here's an illustrated perspective of the metaphorical Rat Race. Inspiration for this illustration came when I was riding the tubes in London.

Am I Alone?
Practicing awareness could be a healthy exercise. In the right doses, questioning ourselves could provoke perspective. Like how we at least have ourselves wherever we are. We can find an island in the sea of our potential that we may choose to share. But who do we share it with?
I was inspired for this illustration during a stay in the Canary Islands.
Who's There?
Some of us find ourselves in new places. Some of us find others in our places. It can be scary on both sides not knowing how you will be received or how to receive someone or something new. You've heard ”don't judge a book by its cover,” because there's always a contrasting perspective. You're allowed to entertain that perspective without accepting it which reminds me of the saying you've maybe heard: ”it's hard telling not knowing.”
I had a beautiful view similar to this one staying in Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands, and I imagined this visual anecdote.
The Illustration of Clothes Line
Analyzing less, observing more. Slowing down and taking time to experience now, a moment, and a place with Curiosity and uncertainty. The passed and the future aren't experienced like the now.
This piece was inspired while wandering the streets of Naples, Italy. Styles of clothing, types of windows, ways of living all reveal something about us and create a culture we share.
