Why a series on grief? Grief is a process we go through as humans. Being aware of the steps in the process seems like a good idea to help understand and recognized it.
Grief is our natural response to loss or major changes wherever it occurs in life: loved ones, relationships, jobs, income, or homes... and as a person who wanders through this process in human nature, I decided to meditate on it with drawing and painting.
This series of drawings and paintings represents steps in the process of grief by isolating the eye as a window to the soul. I wanted to illustrate the emotion we would feel curiously with physical appearance, analogous color, and the drips. Together, I hoped these illustrations would help me express, accept, and be mindful of these steps in myself and recognize them in others. You can't have the good without the bad.
But I dunno, I'm experimenting and sharing. The process of grief involves anger, depression, denial, bargaining, and acceptance in any order and can repeat. Anyways, look into my eyes...
Anger
I'm gonna show some of the process for illustrating Anger.
Denying
Bargaining
Depressed
Accepting
